Hit the “Wall” The indoor climbing wall at the Outdoor Recreation Center is challenging you to get vertical – automatically! That’s right, the wall is now equipped with an automatic belaying system. Beginners through experts can scale up the face along several different paths with confidence knowing that if they slip, it won’t be a high speed free fall to the floor but a gentle glide to the bottom. Adults and children 8 years old and up are welcome. Cost to use the wall is $4 for an hour or less, $6 for an all-day pass or $30 for a monthly pass. Climbers also can purchase a 10-climb punch card for just $18. Climbing parties are available for $8 per person with a minimum of 10 climbers. The wall is open for use Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more details on the wall and climbing activities, call the ORC at 963-1672.
