Another way we take care of our families is through the "Give Parents A Break" program, which brings together the Child Development Center, Youth Programs and the Air Force Aid Society to provide free child care to parents one Saturday a month from 1-5 p.m.
Because most parents could use a break from the stress of parenthood, the Child Development Center and Youth Programs are coming to the rescue with that much deserved break and “down time”. (See schedule below) Both Centers will be open for the “Give Parents a Break” program from 1 to 6 p.m., offering free child care. This is a referral program and it is open to everyone. Families must obtain a referral from one of the following before using the program: chaplain, squadron commander or first sergeant, physician or other medical professional, or a member of the Child Development/Youth Programs staff.
Referral forms are available at Youth Programs, the Child Development Center and the Family Support Center. Referrals can also be obtained from your commander, first sergeant, family support center, base chaplain, medical group, or CDC employees. The deadline for requesting a child care slot for this program is eight days before each session date. For additional details, call Shannon Norris at 963-4366.
